Family photography session at Sandbanks, Dorset

Aside from newborn babies, did you know that I also specialise in photographing families at beautiful outdoor locations all across Dorset?

In particular, I LOVE family generation sessions with extended family members and I wanted to share a recent session with you all, this time with no little children. It doesn't matter how old your children are it is ALWAYS a great idea to have a family photography session.

I find that most people book these extended family photography sessions to either celebrate a milestone birthday / parents wedding anniversary , OR if they are down in Dorset on holiday.

​Dorset is such a stunning place to live , who wouldn't want to incorporate its beauty within their photography session?

This family photography session took place at Sandbanks beach, which you will probably know is one of the nicest beaches in the UK, it is even world famous, not just for its beauty but also for the famous people who live/have holiday homes here.

​I am so fortunate to live just a few minutes drive from here so I always offer it as an option for family photography sessions. (you can check out my other recommended locations in another blog that I have written)

This photography session actually took place in OCTOBER! October can be an ideal time for a beach photography session as the beach is often calm and not as busy at the summer. 
I do many family photography sessions like this during the summer but ideally first thing in the morning or in the evening when the light as as its best and the beach is not busy.
During October, your family photography session can take place anytime during the daylight hours.

One of the reasons that I love Sandbanks so much is its diversity. Yes of course we have those glorious golden sands that make you feel as if you were on holiday, but we also have sand dunes and green areas which make ideal photography backdrops.

I love taking the opportunity to take photographs of just the adults at family photography sessions, usually it is all about the kids , so I love it when the grown ups want a photo.
