Achieving plastic free status Back in 2020 in the covid days, I first applied to Surfers against sewage to become a plastic free business champion, by making 3 swaps in my business to cut down the amount of single use plastic that I use. I haven't stopped since then, In 2024 I received my silver award by swapping a further 6 single use plastic items, and sharing the word about plastic free communities. This year I achieved gold by getting rid of more single use plastic items ( I hardly use any at all now!). hosting a million mile beach clean and submitting a brand audit of what we found, I also contacted our local MP, and since achieving the award I haven't stopped there!  Spreading the world about plastic free champions In June 2025 I gave a talk about how to become a plastic free business champion to my favourite local networking group, Lemur Link Up. I was really pleased that I have inspired some of the other small businesses to apply.
