Cake Smash Photography FAQ's
If you have been thinking about booking a cake smash photography session with me, you probably have some questions about how and when to book in, what happens before, during and after your session, and a possibly more. I have created this page of frequently asked questions to help you, but if you have any other questions that I have not covered please do not hesitate to get in touch. I always love to talk to clients about their photography sessions before they book in.
How much is a cake smash photography session , and what is included?
> You can find all of my pricing information on my cake smash pricing page. There are 2 packages to choose from, all of my packages include the photography session and some photographs so there is no need to pay any extra on top of the package prices.
A cake is included with both packages and the smash & splash package also includes time in the bath tub.
What age should my baby be for a cake smash photography session?
> Cake smash sessions are usually booked to celebrate baby's first birthday. You can choose if you would like the session on or around their birthday, or if you would like the photos back in time for their birthday I would recommend booking the session around a month before.
My baby has an allergy, can you provide free from cakes?
> The donut stack is made from vegan donuts. If you have any allergies please get in touch before booking.
I can also provide a dairy, nut and gluten free cake if required,
What day / time will the cake smash photography session take place?
> I photograph babies in the studio during the week, during school hours. Weekends are reserved for family photography sessions, and spending time with my own family. Due to using natural light I also need to be specific about the time of your session and unfortunately there is no flexibility here. Cake smash sessions can take place at either 10am, 11am. A simply smash session lasts 30 minutes and a smash & splash session is for up to one hour.
Should I bring anything with me to the cake smash photography session?
> If you have booked the smash & splash package please bring along a towel.
You might want to bring spare clothes for yourself or wear something that you don't mind getting messy as you might need to get involved too. It is also useful to bring some of baby's favourite snacks. If you are providing the outfit for the cake smash, please also bring a clean outfit for your baby to go home in.
Do I need to come back to view and select my images?
> No. This is done via a private online gallery. This gives you time to choose your favourites, without any pressure or hard sell. You can also share your gallery with other family members should you wish.
How long does it take to get my photographs after my baby photography session?
> Your online gallery will be available within 4 weeks of your photography session. This will stay active for 4 weeks. Once you have chosen your favourite images, please allow 4 weeks for your prints and USB to arrive, or 7 days if you have chosen the email only package. Please make sure you let me know if you need the photos back for a certain date.
