If you have been thinking about booking a maternity photography session with me, you probably have some of questions; how and when to book in, what happens before, during and after your session, and a possibly more. I have created this page of frequently asked questions to help you, but if you have any other questions that I have not covered please do not hesitate to get in touch. I always love to talk to clients about their photography sessions before they book in.
How much is a maternity photography session , and what is included?
> You can find all of my pricing information on my maternity pricing page, all of my packages include the photography session and some photographs so there is no requirement to pay any extra on top of the package prices.
When will my maternity photography session take place?
> The best time for a maternity session is around 32-36 weeks. So it is always a good idea to get in touch to book as soon as possible after your 20 week scan to avoid disappointment.
Where will my maternity photography session take place?
> If you are due in the summer/early autumn, the beach is absolutely perfect for maternity sessions, but it all depends which sort of images you would like. I have a few favourite locations that I will tell you about when you get in touch to book in. If you have a favourite location we can also discuss this too. I am happy to travel for your maternity session, if it will take place outside Poole, there is a small additional charge to cover mileage.
What day / time will my maternity photography session take place?
> I usually work during the week, and usually do younger baby sessions during the week, however, I do keep some weekends available for family/maternity photography sessions as I understand during the week you may be at work and your children may be at school. If you are booking an outdoor session in the Spring/Summer months, ideally we will meet in the early evening when the light is at its most beautiful. If you are booking in the Autumn/Winter months we can br more flexible with timings due to the low light. This is one of the first things we will talk about when you get in touch to book in.
Can I include other family members in my maternity photography session?
> Yes absolutely! Your session will be tailored to your needs, it can be either just for you, or it can be a family photography session with a special theme. The choice is yours.
Do I need to come back to view and select my images?
> No. This is done via a private online gallery. This gives you time to choose your favourites, without any pressure or hard sell. You can also share your gallery with other family members should you wish.
How long does it take to get my photographs after my maternity photography session?
> Your online gallery will be available within 4 weeks of your photography session. This will stay active for 4 weeks. Once you have chosen your favourite images, please allow 4 weeks for your prints and USB to arrive, or 7 days if you have chosen the email only package.
When you book in with me, you will receive a maternity photography guide, but please do not hesitate to ask if you have any further questions.
