Covid secure newborn photography sessions in Poole, Dorset

I can hardly believe that one entire year has passed since the first lockdown and whilst Covid is still a very big part of our lives, we are learning to live with it and adapt to begin carrying on in a "new normal" way.

My newborn and family photography business has stopped and started more times that I care to remember over the past year and I am currently getting ready to re-open (again!) for photography sessions over the coming weeks. 

I have been fortunate to have many amazing local families trust me with bringing their new arrivals to me during the period I was allowed to open in 2019 so I wanted to use this opportunity to share with you what I do to try and keep everyone safe when they bring their babies to me for their newborn and older baby photography sessions.

Although I have had to make a few small changes to sessions I can proudly still provide the same beautiful natural style of images with full use of my props as I always have been able to.

I have always taken pride in photographing older babies (up to 5 months) here in a similar way to newborns and this past year I have photographed more "older newborns" than ever. So many families patiently waited until it was safe to bring their little ones to me, some were almost 5 months old by that time.  Here are a few of the gorgeous babies who had to patiently wait to come and see me last year, they were between 3-5 months old.

When I re-opened last summer after the first lockdown I had to make some changes to my newborn photography sessions whilst keeping them as relaxing and calm as possible. Most of the changes take place before and after the session in regards to cleaning so it does not affect your experience at all but some small changes such as having to wear a face covering have also had to be put into place.

Much of the guidance regarding cleaning took place anyway, I have always cleaned newborn props and outfits etc between uses anyway but I have put in extra cleaning procedures.

I have a covid secure session policy that details every thing that I do to keep you all safe which I send to every client before their session for them to read and agree with.
