The weather is gorgeous at the moment and I am getting excited about exploring and making more memories with the children over the holidays. If you are looking for some FREE places to go and activities then I have done the hard work for you and listed many of them here. I hope you enjoy the time together and find something new to do this half term break. Fancy's Farm and PortlandPortland is one of our all time favourite places in Dorset. Fancy's farm is great with its free entry and free parking it makes the perfect place to visit when exploring Portland. They have lots of animals to see and a play area for small children. We find something new every time we go! Things to do in Dorset (and at home!) for FREEThis is a little list of my few favourite ideas for when you need inspiration, maybe you might find something on here that you haven't tried before, or something that you have long forgotten about. * Crabbing at Poole Quay, Lake Pier or Mudeford Quay. FREE Bike tagging event Saturday 27th May - Dolphin Leisure CentreDorset Police will be holding a FREE bike tagging event on Saturday 27th May between 2-4pm at the Everyone Active Leisure Centre in Poole, BH15 1TN. RNLI water safety morning - Friday 2nd June at Westbourne LibraryThe friendly RNLI volunteers will be delivering an interactive session giving water safety messages to the children through discussion, quizzes and simple games! Places limited. Booking required. Contact the library directly to book a place. Suitable for ages 5-11. Children must be accompanied by an adult. FREE events for families in BCP parksDid you know that the parks foundation host lots of free events locally? These events are a great way to get the kids out and about and re connect with nature. Here are just a few of the free events taking place over May half term. You can find out more about what is going on by visiting the parks foundation website. The Walled Garden - MoretonWe discovered this beautiful place recently. With free entry and free parking its the perfect place for the kids to have an explore. They have 3 acres of gardens, a play park and some animals aswell. You could also visit the ford for a splash which is only a short walk away. Visit the walled gardens website for more information. Kingston Maurwood animal park and gardens - DorchesterAt Kingston Maurward Animal Park and Gardens, they have 35 acres of beautifully restored gardens with year-round interest, formal gardens including two National Plant collections, sweeping lawns, lakeside walks plus a collection of livestock, poultry, and donkeys - to name a few - all set within Grade II listed parkland. There is also an amazing indoor play and outdoor play area for children. Entry and parking is free. Please check with event providers for details on events before travelling.
